Recently, LOMARTOV participated in a dynamic cross-fertilization event in Oviedo, Spain, bringing together key actors from Critical Raw Materials (CRM) and battery innovation projects. The event was organised by the Iberian Sustainable Mining Cluster (ISMC) Li4LIFE EU Project, in collaboration with BATTERY 2030+.

Representing LOMARTOV, Alberto González, our Sustainability Technical Officer, joined forces with Luca Polidori, EU Relations & Innovation Exploitation Lead at ERP Italia Servizi, to deliver a joint presentation on the RENOVATE and AutoMat projects. Their talk focused on collaborations, interoperable data sharing, and synergies among Horizon-funded pilot initiatives, reinforcing the importance of collective efforts in advancing battery sustainability.

Key topics discussed among participants included:

  • European coordination: insights from BATTERY 2030+ on the alignment of EU initiatives in the CRM and battery sectors.
  • Raw material extraction & recycling: a review of methodologies for CRM extraction from primary sources and recycled materials.
  • Industry perspectives: discussions on Latin American opportunities, real-world energy storage solutions, and the complexities of Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and Life Cycle Costing (LCC).

Fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing across European projects is essential for the sustainable future of the battery and raw materials value chain. LOMARTOV is committed to driving innovation and ensuring that sustainability remains at the core of these advancements.

Stay tuned for more updates on our ongoing projects!
