MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE POSITION
Key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Management of European Projects. Contribute to the preparation, review and validation of financial statements and cost justifications submitted to the European Commission, ensuring full compliance with applicable financial regulations. Monitor project budgets and perform financial follow-up of ongoing EU projects. Verify cost eligibility and ensure accurate allocation of expenditures. Prepare and organize supporting financial documentation required for audits. Review and validate project-related timesheets. Maintain continuous coordination with external accounting and tax advisors regarding EU-funded projects.
- Accounting and Internal Control. Record, supervise and control invoices and expenses, ensuring proper accounting registration and documentation. Monitor purchases and travel expenses from a budgetary and compliance perspective. Support periodic financial closing processes. Ensure proper organization and archiving of financial and administrative documentation.
- Process Improvement. Contribute to the optimization and standardization of internal financial procedures. Promote continuous improvement in budget control systems and financial reporting processes. Support digitalization initiatives and enhance document traceability. Propose improvements to strengthen organizational efficiency and internal control mechanisms.
The selected candidate will perform these duties within the framework of European R&D projects, primarily under Horizon Europe and related programmes, ensuring full financial and regulatory compliance.
KEY REQUIREMENTS / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Accounting, Business Administration or related field.
- A double degree including Law will be considered an asset.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting or finance department.
- Previous experience in the financial management of European projects will be considered an asset.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, budget control, financial analysis).
- Minimum English level: B2.
- Methodical profile with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Strong organizational, planning and deadline-management abilities.
- Proactive mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
