The Senior Engineer Expert in Sustainability will be directly involved in the European activities of the company developing and carrying out research activities strongly related with the sustainable evaluation and validation of novel processes and technologies.
The Senior Sustainability Expert Engineer will be directly involved in the European activities of the company developing and carrying out research activities strongly related to the sustainable evaluation and validation of new processes and technologies. The researcher will be mainly in charge of carrying out Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Cost Studies (LCC), Social LCA (sLCA) and Ecodesign activities for both international projects and private contracts. Other complementary activities will also form part of the researcher’s daily work, adapted to the scope of each project or contract, such as: Circular Economy Modeling; Carbon and water footprint calculation; Material Flow Analysis (MFA); modeling and simulation of specific processes; Levelized cost analysis; proposal for Material Circularity Indicators (MCI); Risk assessments in terms of health and safety criteria of the process / product considered; Recyclability evaluations; Inventory and analysis of the regulatory and certification framework of the target project, to facilitate its standardization and acceptance in the market. The candidate will be responsible for carrying out these tasks and studies in diverse and cross-cutting sectors, aligned with the activities of the ongoing projects, and also with the European research and innovation strategy. The domains of potential activities, but not exclusive, will be: renewable energies and fuels; advanced sustainable materials; new products of biological origin and development of the bioeconomy; waste recovery and industrial symbiosis; sustainable mobility, Smart Cities and Smart Buildings; environmental management and climate mitigation and adaptation.
