On 11 September 2025, LOMARTOV’s sustainability expert Enrique Moliner held a presentation at the 30th International Congress for Battery Recycling (ICBR 2025) in Valencia, sharing insights on the sustainability challenges of lithium-ion battery (LIB) recycling.

His presentation, “Life cycle assessment of industrial-scale lithium-ion battery recycling routes”, drew on the outcomes of the EU-funded RESPECT project and addressed the environmental (LCA), economic (LCC), and social (S-LCA) dimensions of recycling technologies.

The session highlighted that LIB recycling is not only a technical challenge, but also a key driver for building a circular, profitable, and socially responsible battery value chain in Europe and beyond.
