After three years of research and collaboration, the BATSS project is approaching its final stage with a Closing Event bringing together experts from research, industry and European innovation initiatives to discuss the future of advanced and sustainable battery systems in Europe.

The event, From concept to integrated, sustainable and scalable battery solutions in Europe, will take place on 27 October 2026 at NaturKlima in San Sebastián, Spain, and is organised by LOMARTOV and CIDETEC.

The full-day event will mark the culmination of the BATSS project and provide an opportunity to explore the main results and innovations developed throughout the project, while discussing the challenges and opportunities shaping the European battery value chain.

The programme will combine keynote sessions, expert roundtables and project presentations, covering topics ranging from sustainable battery frameworks and industrialisation to energy storage, advanced mobility applications and circularity. These sessions will bring together different perspectives on how technological innovation can contribute to safer, more sustainable and competitive battery systems.

Beyond presenting the results of BATSS, the Closing Event will also connect the project with the wider European innovation landscape in advanced battery systems, creating a space for knowledge exchange and collaboration between researchers, companies and other stakeholders.

As the project comes to an end, the event will provide an opportunity to look beyond the research itself and discuss how the technologies, methodologies and approaches developed within BATSS can contribute to the transition towards market-ready, integrated and sustainable battery solutions.
