As sustainability regulations continue to evolve and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria become increasingly embedded in business strategy, staying up to date with the latest developments is essential for organisations working at the intersection of innovation and sustainability.
With this objective, members of the LOMARTOV team attended the Annual ESG Marathon Day, organised by the Sustainability Unit of the Valencia Chamber of Commerce within the IVACE+i Sustainability Programme. The event brought together sustainability experts, consultants, business leaders and public institutions to discuss the latest developments in ESG strategy, sustainability reporting and corporate competitiveness.
Throughout the day, participants explored some of the key challenges currently facing organisations, including the implementation of the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), materiality assessment, ESG performance indicators, supply chain requirements, and the growing importance of transparent communication to avoid greenwashing.
The programme combined keynote presentations with roundtable discussions involving professionals from leading consultancy firms and sustainability organisations, providing practical insights into how companies can integrate ESG principles into their decision-making processes while responding to evolving regulatory and market expectations.
For LOMARTOV, participating in events such as this is part of our commitment to continuous learning and professional development. As a consultancy specialised in sustainability assessment, environmental impact, circular economy and Responsible Research and Innovation (RRI), remaining connected to current discussions helps us continue providing up-to-date expertise to European research projects and companies seeking to develop more sustainable products, technologies and business models.
Beyond the technical content, the event also highlighted the value of collaboration within the regional sustainability ecosystem. Bringing together businesses, consultants, public authorities and academia creates valuable opportunities to exchange knowledge, identify emerging trends and strengthen the collective transition towards a more sustainable and competitive economy.
At LOMARTOV, we believe that innovation goes hand in hand with continuous learning. Participating in initiatives like the ESG Marathon Day allows us to keep expanding our knowledge, strengthen our capabilities and continue supporting organisations in navigating the sustainability challenges of today and tomorrow.
