LOMARTOV, has officially joined BEPA, the Batteries European Partnership Association (BEPA), confirming its commitment to improve the competitiveness of the European battery industry.
Counting more than 170 members, BEPA is a leading association dedicated to creating a competitive, sustainable and circular European industrial battery value chain for stationary applications and e-mobility.
The BEPA members will work together to prepare Europe to manufacture and commercialise by 2030 the next-generation battery technologies that will enable the rollout of the zero-emission mobility and renewable energy storage. BEPA represents the private side association of the BATT4EU Partnerships the co-programmed partnership on batteries launched by the European Commission under Horizon Europe. The partnership will mobilise more 925 million euros, to boost European research and innovation in the battery sector.
LOMARTOV will contribute to BEPA goals by bringing its expertise in battery and energy storage Eco-design and sustainability validation, acting as the interface between scientific research and industrial actors. These capacities and know-how are able to guide new methods, materials and models definition in batteries and energy storage solutions, integrating eco-design, materials safety and recyclability recommendations through Eco-design and Life Cycle approaches, integrating fundamental tools such as Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Life Cycle Costing (LCC), Social Life Cycle Assessment (SLCA) encompassing environmental, economic, and social aspects. The company will provide its expertise in sustainability aspects as a part of “Technical Working Group 5 – Sustainability” to advance these methodologies and ensure greater sustainability along the value chain of batteries, from raw materials sourcing up to recycling and second life stages.
In addition, LOMARTOV participates in several EU funded projects developing these activities within various areas, including the sustainable supply and value chain of raw materials and the integration of cross-cutting activities in recycling & circular economy in their key application, including batteries and stationary energy storage. These capacities and know-how are essential to provide an SME perspective and develop solutions for the common benefit of the battery value chain in the vision of Europe on climate-neutrally, achieving a zero-pollution ambition and creating economic growth with quality jobs in a circular economy. Finally, in close collaboration with the BEPA members, LOMARTOV will support the development of the most differentiating technologies, contributing to the exchange of ideas, know-how and the joint development of the new value chain of European batteries.
