On March 27th, LOMARTOV organised the DARE2X workshop, an international hybrid event on green ammonia innovation. The event was framed as a milestone for the D&C and clustering activities, led by Yamina Guidoum, Senior Project Manager, and Alba Lafarga, Sustainability & Communication Officer, supported by our sustainability technologists’ team: Jan Klenner, Ioannis Spyropoulos, and Carlos Blasco. The team travelled to the Danish Technological Institute, the project coordinator, co-organiser, and host of the workshop.
Over 70 participants joined, both online and in person, to explore state-of-the-art innovations for green ammonia production in small-scale green ammonia production and discuss the challenges of upscaling and decentralising production in the EU.
The workshop featured a keynote speech from the Ammonia Energy Association, which discussed the current status of low-emission and decentralised ammonia production worldwide. The CAMPFIRE alliance then set the scene for introducing the technological innovations showcased, including DARE2X. The event concluded with a roundtable discussion involving the keynote speaker, CAMPFIRE, and Fundación Valenciaport.

The workshop achieved its objective, in being an event for sharing knowledge and best practices, highlighting the potential for ammonia as a fuel for shipping and power, and as a hydrogen carrier. However, conclusions pointed out that, still, effective policies are needed to promote green ammonia adoption.
The event was crucial for advancing the latest stages of the DARE2X project, which is expected to conclude in September 2025. LOMARTOV will organise a final conference on the 11th to bring these key highlights and outcomes back to the table with policymakers. Save the date and stay tuned for more project news!
