Postdoctoral research experience at Lomartov through the iberus experience

LOMARTOV team is thrilled to announce their collaboration with Iberus Experience, which offers a postdoctoral contract to a foreign Experienced Researcher, including the possibility of a 6-month secondment in LOMARTOV offices, in Valencia.

Iberus Experience is an H2020 Marie Sklodowska-Curie Action Cofund programme for Experienced Researchers. It is an International Fellowship Programme for talent attraction, consolidation and retention at the Campus of International Excellence of the Ebro Valley, offering 11 postdoctoral contracts to excellent researchers to develop individual research projects in the fields of Agrofood and Nutrition, Health Technologies, Energy and Sustainability, Social and Territorial Development and Circular Bio-economy in order to produce a positive effect in terms of excellent science with impact at the regional level. This programme offers attractive conditions based on the principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers, and the EU Principles for Innovative Doctorate Training.

Under the coordination of the research group “PLATON” of the University of Zaragoza, and within the research line of “Energy and Sustainability“, the postdoc will work on energy storage systems, with a special focus on bridging photovoltaics and electrochemical energy storage technologies, with the guidance of Dr. Marta Haro and Dr. Emilio Juarez-Perez. Moreover, an opportunity of a 6-months secondment at LOMARTOV is offered to the postdoctoral researcher, under the supervision of Dr. Isaac Herraiz, Technical Coordinator, with a twofold objective:

  • Accessing collaborative networks (LOMARTOV’s INNOVA area) linked to the development of clean and sustainable energy solutions to build new projects.
  • Gaining skills in the evaluation of the environmental impacts of new technologies and systems (life cycle assessment-LCA, eco-design).

The postdoc will indeed train her/his skills on LCA and eco-design methodologies at LOMARTOV dedicated department on SUSTAINABLE SOLUTIONS, which is participating in several EU projects accomplishing holistic sustainability assessments on new technologies, also including the topic of novel energy storage devices and systems (e.g. EU project ASTRABAT “All Solid-sTate Reliable BATtery for 2025, and EU project HYBRIS “HYbrid Battery energy stoRage system for advanced grid and behInd-de-meter Segments).

Additionally, the postdoc fellow will also have the opportunity to perform a short stay in Cemhti CNRS in France. In this collaboration, the postdoc will acquire expertise in materials characterization using advanced in-situ techniques during electrochemical processes.
