Introducing the ASTRABAT and HYBRIS EU projects as success stories within the framework of the Battery and Innovation Days 2022.

On October 13th and 14th, 2022 in Brussels, the second edition of the Battery and Innovation Days (BID2022) concluded with more than 250 participants participating live at the event plus more than 650 online to create a platform for discussion among the Research community, policy makers, industry players, and end-users by enabling to reach a constructive dialog towards a well-defined and sustainable battery value chain in Europe.

Some of the highlights of these two days were the presentation about the battery passport initiative, Li-on and post-Li-ion battery optimization, and improvements to the BMS systems in the automotive industry. At the event, strategies were presented in order to achieve sustainable-by-design, safe, and recyclable-by-design, so as to create a collaborative platform that enables the relevant stakeholders to share and create a common database on the supply and value chain of batteries.

Within this context, the European projects ASTRABAT and HYBRIS were presented as key success stories. The projects were introduced as virtual exhibitors during the closing session “From lab to market: EU success stories” along with R&I initiatives such as Batteries Europe, Battery 2030+, and the BEPA , and other related R&D projects, aiming at establishing a feasible and strong path to a sustainable European battery value chain.

LOMARTOV is working on the completion both of the EU projects, evaluating and optimising the significant environmental, economic, and sustainable performance of the development of batteries, considering different TRLs and applications (i.e., mobility and stationary batteries).
